This is a policy brief on the main reasons behind land disputes in Liberia. Findings include: Popular ranking for causes of conflict puts land disputes at the top of the list. Urban areas see more frequent conflicts compared to rural.
Further research recommendations: 
Future government policies on land should favor market based or government -based redistribution of land over inheritance.
